Everton edged out game opponents in the form of League Two leaders Lincoln City in the FA Cup third round on Saturday afternoon, and after the match their fans gave their opinions on proceedings.

The Toffees went into the contest needing a victory because they had been in some fairly indifferent form in recent times, and although the margin of the win wasn’t as sizeable as they would have liked, getting into the next stage of the competition was the priority.

Marco Silva made changes to his Everton side to face the Imps, and it was one of those men coming in who impressed throughout the match, and did his long-term hopes of featuring more regularly no harm at all.

Ademola Lookman has had a stop-start career with the Toffees so far, but there was a lot to like about his performance from the start against Lincoln, as he auditioned for any vacancies that may appear in the first team at any point in the future.

It was the England under-21 attacker who gave Everton the lead in the tie, when he delightfully headed a Leighton Baines cross early on in the encounter and the home side were always comfortable without being spectacular from there.

Bernard notched a first goal for the club soon after Lookman began the scoring, and although Lincoln got back into the match before half time, the Toffees remained in control of the situation to book their path into the fourth round.

The Everton winger returned from a couple of weeks out with injury to impress throughout the contest, and he was the centre of attention from fans on social media after the match.

Many Toffees supporters liked what they saw from the youngster and want to see more of him, with many posts calling for a lengthier inclusion for the attacker.
