West Ham United were beaten 1-0 by Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon, however, fans did manage to find a positive about one player on social media.
The Hammers appeared to be heading for their first point of the season, however, Adama Traore struck in the final moments of the game and gave the visitors all three points.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side have looked far from good with their play so far, despite having made a number of summer signings that would have given the impression that they would be challenging around the European places.
However, the Chilean is obviously finding life difficult at the London Stadium and it could be a lot worse for them if it were not for Lukasz Fabianski.
The goalkeeper, who looks to be one of the only summer additions to have made a solid impression for the Hammers so far, pleased the fans on social media with his performance against Wolves.
The Poland international has been on hand to make a number of saves in every game and continued to do so against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side on Saturday afternoon.
Fans commented on Twitter that they had Fabianski to be thankful for as he kept them in the game, whilst others believe he is the only player to have performed to a reasonable expectation since arriving at the London Stadium.
Here are some of their reactions:
Fabianski saved us from a thumping. https://t.co/YF8B6XJGtM

Thoughts from yesterday:
Fabianski has been signing of the season so far. Has made at least 7 or 8 saves that I know for a fact Adrian or Hart would have conceded.
Cresswell kept leaving gaps for their players to attack us on the wings, same as Fredericks.

Disagree. Think we were wide open and it would’ve been a cricket score if not for Balbuena, Diop & Fabianski.

Agreed we played it like it was Pre season game! No urgency and real effort at all…very worrying that we are not showing the real basics…only positives for me were Diop, Fabianski and at times Balbuena but we need to start playing as a team

Positives for me were Fabianski, Balbuena, Diop, Arnautovic and Yarmolenko needs to start. How are Antonio and Snodgrass going to keep starting whilst his on the bench?!

Agree on Diop. Balbuena and Fabianski also.
Get a good defensive midfielder in front of them and that’s a good spine.

Good morning Ian. I’d like to be patient and give MP time but I fear we are on our way to The Championship. Yesterday was THE worst WHUFC performance I have seen for years. Michail Antonio was the pick of a bad bunch. Diop looks good as does Fabianski. It was truly awful.

Not been impressed with many yet mate. Diop looks half decent and without fabianski a couple of the score lines could have been a lot worse.

There was a complete lack of effort and desire to win from most of our squad, with the exceptions being Diop, Balbuena and Fabianski.
I thought those three players were excellent.

Only good thing about it over there today was Fabianski & Diop, our best signings out of the lot. The rest of the team were clueless.
