Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent has predicted that current players Toby Alderweireld, Christian Eriksen and Danny Rose will all stay at the club.
With less than a week left in the summer transfer window, all three of the Spurs stars have been linked with potential exits from the Premier League side.
Despite the trio’s Tottenham futures hanging in the balance, the vast majority of the club’s supporters will hope that the gifted players remain at the North London outfit as the 2019-20 campaign approaches.
When quizzed on his thoughts on the Spurs players’ possible exits, Bent stated he believed that Daniel Levy would not let the trio depart with not much time remaining in the transfer window.
“Tottenham need to keep all their players,” the ex-Spurs man told Football Insider.
“They can’t let Rose, Eriksen and Alderweireld leave because they can’t replace them.
“Knowing Daniel Levy the way I do, he won’t allow that to happen. 100 per cent he won’t let them go. He will hold on to them and then assess it again in January.”
While Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke have been signed by Tottenham this summer, most of the fans would have hoped for further players being landed by last season’s Champions League finalists.
However, keeping important players such as Eriksen, Rose and Alderweireld will also be welcomed by the Spurs faithful.
If another new face or two can be added before the transfer window closes next Thursday, it would be adjudged as a successful summer for Tottenham – with high hopes of success in the upcoming campaign.
