Everton are reportedly open to selling Morgan Schneiderlin this summer should they receive an offer in the region of £15 million, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The Frenchman joined the club two years ago from Manchester United. He has struggled for form and consistency during his time at Goodison Park so far and only managed 14 Premier League appearances for the Toffees this season.
Everton failed to display form and consistency this term. There were times when they looked good and others when they displayed a poor brand of football. The Merseysiders will likely see many new arrivals and departures this summer.
Everton failed to challenge for a place in the top six this season and plenty of flaws need to be rectified if they want to challenge the top-dogs of the Premier League in 2019-20. Selling Schneiderlin will be a step in the right direction for the Toffees.
He has failed to really add value to the team and at 29-years-old, he is unlikely to get any better from here on. Everton are better off finding a replacement for Schneiderlin or promoting one of the top-performers from the youth sides to take his place in the first-team next season.
Based upon Schneiderlin’s performances this season, it is unlikely that he will fetch a good selling price. Everton manager Marco Silva will likely have to settle for a loss on the £24 million that was paid to sign him from United two years ago.
Since Marcel Brands joined the Toffees as director of football, the club has preferred to sign young talent so one can expect a youngster to be the eventual replacement for Schneiderlin when he does depart.
