Everton are the latest side to be linked with prodigious Lyon winger Rachid Ghezzal, with Goal stating that the Toffees have had a €10 million (£8.6 million) offer for the star rejected.

The attacking midfielder is in the last year of his current contract with the Ligue 1 outfit and is believed to covet a move to the Premier League.

West Ham had an offer of €7 million for Ghezzal rejected recently and as such it appears that Lyon are playing hardball over their youth academy graduate.

Ghezzal scored eight goals from the wing last season as Lyon finished second in Ligue 1 and qualified for the Champions League – catching the eye of visiting scouts in the process.

Everton are believed to be close to signing Yannick Bolasie from Crsytal Palace and as such their offer for another winger, Ghezzal, seems slightly odd.

Both the Toffees and Hammers have plenty of options in the final third, especially in wide areas, but the Algerian’s potential is seemingly enough for both to make a move for him.

  1. Not sure why we want another winger, but we are dealing with Lyon again and as soon as you do that President Aulus promotes his players to “superstar”status and the the fee sky rockets.Good luck with that one.
