Everton are reportedly interested in Chelsea flop Michy Batshuayi, according to a report published by RMC.

Batshuayi spent the first half of the season on loan with Valencia and it was an unsuccessful spell as he went on to score just one goal from 15 appearances.

The reported Everton target does not appear to be part of the future plans of the Stamford Bridge giants. Last January when they were struggling for goals whilst Alvaro Morata was out of form, they opted to bring in Olivier Giroud rather than give the Belgian international more responsibility.

Another club who Batshuayi has been linked with is AS Monaco. Thierry Henry’s side need reinforcements urgently this season as they are in danger of being relegated from the French top-flight.

During his time with Chelsea so far, Batshuayi has played 53 games in all competitions and scored 19 goals.

While he has not exactly been a hit, he has shown glimpses of potential. His loan stint with Borussia Dortmund during the second half of last season was also largely successful as he went on to score nine goals from 14 games.

Everton have had issues at centre forward this season, with manager Marco Silva clearly not trusting Cenk Tosun or Oumar Niasse to lead the line on a regular basis.

This has led to Richarlison being forced to play centrally for the Toffees.

Everton fans would love a new number nine at Goodison but the Merseysiders will need to move quickly if they are to ensnare Batshuayi from Monaco’s grasp.
