Watford manager Walter Mazzarri has told the club to make Tom Cleverleys move permanent, The Sun are reporting.

The 27-year-old midfielder joined the Hornets on loan for the second time in his career, this time from Everton, and for half a season after finding his playing time at Goodison Park significantly reduced following his debut season at the club.

The England international settled in quickly at Vicarage Road and has made 18 appearances for the side so far, losing only five of those matches and providing two assists.

It seems that he has impressed Mazzarri, as the coach has reportedly told the club to take the opportunity to make his move permanent in the summer.

The Hornets are currently mid-table in the Premier League, with eight wins from 26 matches.

Cleverley currently has three years left on his Everton contract, so Watford may find they have to pay a little more than they initially thought to make him a permanent member of their squad.
