Premier League side Everton have shown an interest in signing reported Aston Villa transfer target Trezeguet, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Toffees have been scouring the scene for quality players this summer, as they look to build on an indifferent campaign in the main last term, and aim to push on and break into the top six as soon as possible.

Marco Silva underwent heavy surgery on the Everton squad this time last year, and is set to complete even more work on it in the ongoing transfer window, as he bids to take the club to where they want to be.

Trezeguet, who is also a reported target for Aston Villa, is an exciting winger, who would bring some pace and a dynamic edge to the Toffees attacking unit.

The Egypt international, who has recently been representing his country at the Africa Cup of Nations, where they were beaten by South Africa in the last 16 over the weekend, currently plays for Turkish outfit Kasimpasa.

After a tough start which involved him moving to a couple of clubs and having to go through a pair of temporary spells away, Trezeguet looks to have settled in Turkey, although it is understood that he has been told he can leave should a reasonable offer be received.

That will please the Everton boss, who will go about chasing him for the remainder of the transfer window, although he will need to work hard to get any deal over the line for the 24-year-old, as it is not just the Merseyside outfit and Villa who are interested in his services.

Quite rightly, Trezeguet wants to go somewhere that he would be a first-team regular when he does leave Turkey, which could be to the Toffees’ benefit as they are not blessed with a vast number of attacking options in the wider areas.
