Everton will look to get their season back on track when they play host to League Two leaders Lincoln City at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon, and they may well have an attacker back for duty, according to their official website.
The Toffees have had a difficult time of things in the Premier League recently, with a disappointing defeat to Leicester City to begin 2019 on New Year’s Day. That followed a spate of poor results, and Marco Silva really needs his team to secure a morale boosting victory against the lower league side.
The Everton boss has suggested that he has a fully fit squad for the match, but has acknowledged the potential for some of his men to be jaded, and he will take that into account when he selects his starting XI for the tie.
One man who could return for the Toffees for the contest is Ademola Lookman, and his appearance could be a boost to a side who could understandably be suffering from a drop in confidence after recent results.
The winger has missed the last couple of weeks for Everton with an ankle issue, which was not ideally timed given the amount of matches that have taken place in that period, but he has been back in training and should be fit to feature at some point in the cup tie.
Silva has suggested that he will only pick players in 100 per cent condition to play against the Imps, which could be an admission that there will be a number of changes for the Toffees, but they are unlikely to come at the detriment of gaining a much-needed positive result.
Everton have a good record in the FA Cup, and they will be hoping to take their first step towards winning it once again when they go up against the giant killers of a couple of seasons ago.
