Everton are set to make a huge £60m bid for Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha, according to Sky Sports News.
The Toffees have become the latest club to show interest in the 26-year-old, who has made it clear that he wants to leave Selhurst Park.
Zaha informed Palace that he wanted to take up a new challenge after returning from the African Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast, and Everton are hoping they can secure the services of the attacker.
The London club value him at £80m, with the Toffees hoping the offer of a player plus £60m will be enough to get a deal over the line.
Everton have been looking to improve their attacking options throughout the current transfer window, and have identified Zaha as their latest target.
With the Toffees having no issue in spending big money, they will be hoping they can be more successful that Arsenal in the pursuit of the Palace forward.
Arsenal were unable to offer more than £40m for Zaha, which was rejected and denied the 28-year-old a ‘dream’ move.
Despite his desperation to leave Palace, the forward wants to remain in London which could be a big blow to Everton’s chances of making the signing.
Zaha enjoyed a disastrous two-year spell away from Selhurst Park when he joined Manchester United, and if the Toffees are successful in their bid to bring him to Goodison Park they will be hoping history doesn’t repeat itself.
The forward has scored 53 goals in 323 games for Palace, and is now aiming to prove himself at a higher level.
Everton will be aiming to bring Zaha in before the transfer window slams shut, and will be hoping he can bring with him the form that has made him one of the most dangerous attackers in the Premier League.
