According to The Daily Mail, Liverpool are interested in signing Lyon star Bertrand Traore in the summer transfer window, meaning that there will be competition for Everton for the rising star.
The report has claimed that Liverpool are looking at Traore as a possible transfer target this summer, and that the Reds have sent scouts to Lyon’s recent matches.
The Daily Mail recently claimed of interest from Everton in the former Chelsea youngster, with Lyon valuing the 23-year-old at £40 million.
Traore started his professional club football career at Chelsea, but the 23-year-old struggled to make a huge impact at Stamford Bridge.
After loan spells at Vitesse and Ajax, the Burkina Faso international – who can operate as a forward or as an attacking midfielder – moved to Lyon on a permanent contract from Chelsea.
According to WhoScored, Traore scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 31 Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon last season.
The 23-year-old has scored seven goals and provided one assist in 33 league matches for Lyon this campaign, according to WhoScored.
