Premier League sides Everton and Manchester City both want to sign Burnley centre-half Michael Keane in January, according to The Sun.

The former Manchester United defender has proven this term that he is more than capable of starring in the Premier League and is rated at around £20 million according to the report.

Burnley continue to strive for survival this season and Keane looks set to be a major component of the Clarets’ chances of avoid a relegation dogfight in 2016-17.

Everton signed Ashley Williams in the summer but having lost John Stones, it is believed that Ronald Koeman wants another player to operate at the back.

The Dutch trainer has fielded a three-man defence in recent weeks and with Phil Jagielka potentially leaving the Merseyside club, a replacement could be needed.

City boss Pep Guardiola has struggled to find an ideal pairing at centre-half for the top four hopefuls, who continue to leak soft goals.

Burnley will surely be desperate to hold onto their rising star but Sean Dyche will know that the allure of Goodison Park or the Etihad Stadium could be too much to resist for Keane.
