Everton have made an inquiry over the potential availability of Barcelona winger Malcom, but the Brazilian will spurn the Toffees to stay at Camp Nou in the January transfer window, according to Marca.
The Goodison Park outfit were busy in the summer transfer window and much of their business focused on dealings with the Catalan giants.
Everton signed Lucas Digne and Yerry Mina from Barcelona, while Andre Gomes was brought to Goodison Park on a season-long loan deal.
The latest report suggests the Merseyside outfit have inquired over the availability of Malcom, who has found the going tough in Spain since a big-money move from Bordeaux at the start of the season.
With the likes of Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho ahead of him in the pecking order, the talented South American has had to make-do with a bit-part role in Barcelona.
Despite this, the Spanish newspaper state that Malcom is determined to prove himself at the La Liga champions and will not entertain any possible loan exits over the course of the next month.
Everton look well-stocked in wide areas given the presence of Theo Walcott, Bernard and Richarlison – but the latter has been forced to play in a centre forward role of late due to a lack of proven goalscorers at the Merseyside club.
While the Toffees faithful would surely welcome someone like Malcom at the club with open arms, the priority in the January window should surely be a striker rather than a winger for Marco Silva’s men.
