Everton have been linked with a move for Nice attacking midfielder Wylan Cyprien, according to a report published by Yahoo France.
The 24-year-old was impressive during the past season as he went on to make 29 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring four goals and recording two assists.
Everton are looking to bolster their side this summer after a fairly inconsistent past season.
There are plenty of positives to take from the recently finished campaign for the Toffees, but they do need to make a lot of improvements if they want to be on par with the best teams in the Premier League next season.
Cyprien has the ability to be a success at Goodison Park and could be an ideal replacement for Everton midfielder James McCarthy. He can add creativity to the Merseyside club’s midfield and is also capable of operating from deeper in midfield.
As things stand, Gylfi Sigurdsson is the only creative central midfielder within Marco Silva’s Everton squad. The Merseysiders cannot solely rely on the Iceland international for creativity in the middle of the park and need to provide him with more support next season.
Another area that the Toffees need to bolster ahead of next season is their striker choices.
Everton have not been able to find a true replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who left the club during the summer of 2017.
Since then, the Toffees have attempted to utilise the likes of Sandro Ramirez, Cenk Tosun, Oumar Niasse and Dominic Calvert-Lewin up front, with none of them being able to hit the ground running.
The Everton fans will hope that the club hierarchy can land a striker this summer who can score between 15-20 goals a season.
