Everton are set to make a summer move for Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and would be willing to pay £15 million to bring the Premier League winner to Goodison Park, according to The Mirror.
The Toffees parted company with long-term custodian Tim Howard in the summer, with Ronald Koeman bringing compatriot Maarten Stekelenburg to Merseyside as a replacement.
The Dutch stopper has shared the goalkeeping responsibilities with Joel Robles this term, but a lot of talk in the media has stipulated that Everton are likely to look for a long-term option between the sticks in the summer.
Schmeichel has proven himself as one of the Premier League’s best in his position and was a crucial player in Leicester being crowned English champions last season.
However, with the Foxes struggling to reach last term’s heights in 2016-17 and now embroiled in a relegation scrap, there is talk that some of Claudio Ranieri’s main men could look to leave the King Power Stadium.
The report suggests that Schmeichel, who signed a new Leicester contract relatively recently, would command a transfer fee in the region of £15 million if he was to join Everton.
