Everton are reportedly confident of completing a deal to sign Burnley centre-half Michael Keane, according to Bleacher Report.
The former Manchester United defender has impressed in his first season back in the Premier League and is an essential member of Sean Dyche’s side.
However, Keane’s excellent performances at Turf Moor have seen the Englishman linked with a move to a host of other top-flight sides and Burnley look set to face a fight to keep the star at the club.
Ronald Koeman has rotated between a back four and three at the back this season but the consensus is that an extra centre-half at Everton would add strength in depth to the Dutchman’s squad.
John Stones left the Toffees in the summer to join Manchester City while Ashley Williams joined the Premier League club, but with Phil Jagielka ageing, the Goodison Park side are seemingly in the market for a new defensive stalwart.
