Everton are set to swoop for Ajax wonderkid Kasper Dolberg, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 19-year-old has had scouts from across the world tracking his progress following an explosive start to the season in the Eredivisie.
Dolberg scored an 18-minute hat trick on Saturday, taking his tally to eight goals from 12 starts in his debut season for the Dutch club.
That form has prompted Toffees boss Ronald Koeman to reportedly make a £20 million move for the player in January, in an attempt to stave off competition from bigger clubs in the summer.
Everton are in the market for a striker with an increasing number of reports seemingly suggesting that current star Romelu Lukaku is set to leave the club at the end of the season.
The Belgium international has 35 goals in 83 games for the Merseyside club and his departure would leave Koeman’s side desperately short of quality up front.
Dolberg, who has been likened to Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his goal-scoring exploits, could be the perfect man to fill that void and the chance to integrate the player into the Goodison Park setup in January would appeal perfectly to Koeman.
Should Lukaku stay, the Denmark international could even end up being the perfect foil for the former Chelsea man in a dangerous, youthful and potent attacking force.
Everton have suffered a recent slump in form in the Premier League and needed a last minute Seamus Coleman header to snatch a 1-1 draw at home to relegation threatened Swansea City on Saturday.
That result continued a disappointing run that has seen the Toffees win just once in their last eight games in all competitions.
With the need for an injection of fresh talent in the forward line obvious, there is every chance that Dolberg could be wearing the famous Merseyside blue come 2017.
