Everton are the frontrunners to sign Southampton star Virgil van Dijk in January after the Dutch defender changed his agent to the same representation as Ronald Koeman, according to The Mirror.
The former Celtic centre-half has been in excellent form of late for the Saints and has starred in the Premier League over the last 18 months.

A host of English clubs have been linked with Van Dijk, with The Times recently claiming that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wants the star to bolster his ranks at Stamford Bridge.
However, Koeman knows the player better than most due to their mutual time at the St Mary’s Stadium and now has another common link to the Netherlands international.
The report suggests that Van Dijk has parted with Henk-Maarten Chin and joined the London-based Wasserman Group, who also have the Everton manager as a client.
Southampton have fought to hold onto their best players over the last couple of transfer windows and it remains to be seen where the astute centre-half’s future lies.
Everton’s flimsy defence in their 3-2 defeat to Watford on Saturday suggests they need a new player at the back, with Conte and Chelsea are constantly being linked to defenders following the switch to 3-4-2-1.
