Everton were beaten 2-1 by Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday evening and fans took to social media to tear into one of their mainstays following the conclusion of the game.

The Toffees headed into the fixture on a run of having been unbeaten in their last four matches and would have felt confident of picking up a result against a Red Devils side that have looked shaky recently.

However, they fell behind in the first half when Paul Pogba netted the rebound from his penalty, that was initially saved by Jordan Pickford, the second spot-kick he stopped in successive weeks.

United then doubled their lead shortly after the restart when Anthony Martial added his third goal in two matches with a stunning strike.

Marco Silva’s side received a penalty towards the closing stages, which Gylfi Sigurdsson duly slotted home, however, they were unable to find the second goal to give them a share of the points.

Fans were disappointed with the result and the performance they saw from some of their players, however, one man appeared to standout for more criticism than others on social media.

Supporters took to Twitter to slam Seamus Coleman for his display during the match, with many questioning whether he should still be in the team.

Fans tore into the Republic of Ireland international claiming that he continually looks worse as each week passes, with some suggesting that they need to find a new right-back to replace him.

Here are some of their reactions:
