Everton confirmed that Kevin Mirallas has agreed to return to former club Olympiakos on loan for the remainder of the season on Sunday and their fans have been reacting to the news of the departure.
The Belgium international arrived from Greece in August 2012 and was a regular in the Blues’ team for much of his time at Goodison Park, but has found opportunities more difficult to come by more recently.

The 30-year-old has not featured in the Premier League since the 4-1 defeat to Southampton in November, with his only appearance under Sam Allardyce coming in the Europa League victory at Apollon Limassol last month.
In all the winger has played 186 times for the Merseyside club, scoring 38 goals in that time, but it would appear he has seen his final action in a Toffees shirt.
With Everton having strengthened in the attacking midfield positions in the summer and a number of exciting and talented youngsters coming through the ranks at Goodison, Mirallas was only going to slip further down the pecking order, so his move away makes sense for all parties.
The end looked to be nigh as far as the Belgian was concerned when Sky Sports reported that he was sent home from training for a lack of effort earlier in the season.
Although the attacker denied those stories it was the kind of thing that remained attached to him.
That appeared to make him fall further out of favour with the fan base, many of whom had accused Mirallas of being lazy and disinterested for a while.
Those same supporters were quick to react to the news when it broke on Sunday, with the general consensus being that the club were correct to allow him to leave.
Here are some of the comments from fans who clearly are not too disappointed to see the back of him:
So Mirallas is off too. Can’t say I’m bothered. Attitude stunk out the gaff. Next out hopefully Schneiderlin #EFC

Hopefully the end of the mirallas saga for us and this loan turns into a permanent move, someone with his ability and the amount of time he’s been here he should be 1 of the 1st names on the team sheet every week #BadEgg #EFC

Things have not gone to plan this season but I'm happy that it's the old guard like Mirallas being moved on rather than jumping the gun on the new generation of players.
Stick with Sandro, Klaassen, Davies, Lookman, Keane, Holgate etc. This season may end up being year one. #EFC

Mirallas looks like he’s gone. I’ll miss the two decent performances he puts in each season. #EFC

Made up Mirallas has gone. Like Barkley, he’s a wet one and not someone we need right now. Their sales have paid for Tosun’s signing. Hopefully shift a couple more and get a decent LB in to start right away #efc

#mirallas is everything wrong with most modern footballers . Talented but happy to pick up a huge pay packet for minimal effort whilst allowing his ego to believe his own hype . #clearoff #everton #efc
