Everton’s woes continued on Sunday, when they were thumped at home against Arsenal in a 5-2 hammering, however, fans still managed to praise one of their own on social media.

Pressure on Ronald Koeman continues to intensify at Goodison Park with The Toffees falling into the relegation zone after a disastrous start, in a season that many fancied them to be challenging for Champions League football.

Things had started well for the Dutchman’s side, with a Wayne Rooney strike getting Everton on their way, however, the Gunners equalised just before the half-time whistle, with Nacho Monreal scoring a rare goal.

Once the second half got underway, it all went downhill for Koeman and his side, with Mesut Ozil guiding Arsenal into the lead, before things got even worse for the men in blue.

Everton’s Idrissa Gueye received his marching orders after being shown a second yellow card from referee Craig Pawson, leaving an already vulnerable side even more exposed to Arsene Wenger’s team.

Record-signing Alexandre Lacazette added a third before stoppage time brought a goal-scoring frenzy to the game.

Aaron Ramsey made the match 4-1 to the visitors in the final minute of normal time, however, Oumar Niasse managed to pull it back to 4-2, before an Alexis Sanchez strike confirmed the three points would be heading to the Emirates Stadium.

Fans were understandably angry with the defeat and were continuing their calls for Koeman to be sacked on social media, however, they had managed to find some praise for one of the players he brought to the club in the summer transfer window.

Jordan Pickford, who joined from Sunderland for a reported £30million fee, was the Toffees’ best player despite conceding five goals, although it could have been a lot more if it was not for the 23-year-old’s performance.
