Everton have joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Atalanta sensation Franck Kessie, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
The 20-year-old deep-lying midfielder has taken Serie A by storm this season after scoring five goals and providing two assists in 15 appearances.

Kessie’s form has seen top European clubs take notice, including the Toffees and Spurs, who have reportedly made an enquiry for the £20 million-rated star.
However, the two Premier League clubs may have to wait if they want to sign the youngster due to new permit regulations.
Rules by the FA state a non-European player must be ‘internationally established at the highest level’ and Kessie’s 10 appearances for Ivory Coast would equal him ineligible.
With the African Cup of Nations taking place in January, both clubs will be hoping the promising prospect plays regularly for his country in order to be granted permission to work in the UK.
If Kessie fails to meet the specified requirements, he may be able to request an extraordinary permit where the FA will then decide whether or not he can make the move.
