One of the bright products from the Everton youth development system this season has been Ellis Simms.
The 18-year-old shone for the Toffees U-18 side last weekend as they secured a 6-0 win against Sunderland.
He produced individual brilliance as the Everton starlet went on to score four goals while the other goals came from Bobby Carroll and Korede Adedoyin also found the back of the net.
Simms has reportedly scored 31 U18 goals this season, according to the official Everton website. His actual strike tally could actually be quite higher as he has also played in different youth divisions.
Simms’ statistics for this season certainly prove that he is ready to be integrated into the Merseysiders first-team in the near future.
The Everton rising star has however yet to sign a professional deal at Goodison Park with his scholarship deal due to expire this summer, according to The Sun.
The report also added that German giants Bayern Munich as well as Borussia Dortmund are interested in luring Simms this summer. German clubs have begun to recruit young English talent during recent years and this trend now looks set to continue into the future.
Jadon Sancho has established himself as one of the most exciting players after joining Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in 2017. Arsenal youngster Reiss Nelson is having a successful season on loan in the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim. Everton youngster Ademola Lookman had a successful loan spell with RB Leipzig during the second half of next season.
Everton must act soon to prevent a talented prospect from leaving them for good.
