Everton have been making all the headlines in the summer transfer window, as they have done some big business so far.
They are back in the news again, this time with the future of Tottenham Hotspur target Ross Barkley, as he was left out of The Toffees’ pre-season tour to Tanzania.
The official reason from the club is due to a ‘groin injury’, however fans of both clubs are speculating that it is down to the 23-year-old leaving Goodison Park.
Especially as Yannick Bolasie has been included despite being unavailable to play until December after a lengthy spell on the side line.
Spurs seem to be favourites to land Barkley, who seems to be following Romelu Lukaku out of the exit door due to Ronald Koeman’s policy of no player being bigger than the club.
The Everton midfielder has made 179 appearance for the club, scoring 27 goals in all competitions and has been one of their key players.
He has come in for criticism of late though, with many fans welcoming an exit after some huge signings so far this window.
Whether last year’s Premier League runners-up will be his next destination is still to be seen though, as Tottenham are yet to make a bid for the player.
It has sparked debate on Twitter, and here are some tweets from Everton fans regarding the current situation, with some feeling it is too convenient that he has picked up an injury all of a sudden:
Seems suspicious…. 🙄

Some Toffees fans would like the local lad to stay though, as they feel he could improve with the players the club have signed:
The 2nd half of last season is the best Ross Barkley has ever been, clear improvement under Koeman. I'd be gutted if he went now.

I really hope he doesn't leave, he'll be a better player with better players around him. The lad has too much responsibility now. #ross2stay

Not all Spurs fans are excited at the prospect of singing the midfielder though:
Don't need him.
