Newcastle United star Ayoze Perez looks set to leave the club this summer, according to a report published by CalcioNapoli 24.
Perez has been one of the more consistent performers for the Magpies over the years and it will be a blow to the club if he ends up leaving this summer.
The former Spain U-21 international joined the Toon Army during the summer of 2014 from Tenerife. The Newcastle man has since gone on to make 179 league appearances for the club, scoring 42 goals. This season, he managed 13 goals in all competitions from 38 matches.
At 25-years-old, Perez is at a stage of his career where he will be wanting to experience European football as well as push for Spanish national team selection so he may be open to leaving St James Park. The report added that Inter Milan and Napoli are interested in the services of the Newcastle player and added that he is keen on joining Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
Perez has split opinions in the Newcastle support over the years but looked to be hitting form towards the end of the 2018-19 season.
A forward three of the Spaniard, Miguel Almiron and Salomon Rondon fired the Magpies to some impressive results – but the chances of the trident all being at St James at the start of next term seems small.
