Newcastle United are closing in on a deal to sign Amiens defender Emil Krafth and will get a transfer over the line before the window closes on Thursday evening, according to French newspaper Courrier Picard.
The Magpies fans are desperate for a few new faces to be added to Steve Bruce’s squad before the opportunity is no longer available, with the club undergoing a summer of upheaval.
In defence, Newcastle could certainly use an extra option or two, with Sweden international Krafth a solid option who would provide competition for places at right-back.
The north east outfit have DeAndre Yedlin as first-choice in the role, while Javi Maquillo is still at St James’ Park despite not impressing since moving to Tyneside.
Newcastle supporters will expect Mike Ashley to open his cheque book again this summer, despite the club-record acquisition of Joelinton, with the capture of Krafth a bare minimum.
The Magpies could also use an addition centre forward, with Bruce’s squad being robbed of Salomon Rondon and Ayoze Perez over the summer.
Newcastle fans are angry with Ashley and if a couple of new signing are not added before the window closes on Thursday, their frustrations will be further compounded.
