‘Drop the agenda’, ‘Immense’ – These Man Utd fans react to ‘phenomenal’ player’s performance

A number of Manchester United fans were delighted with what they saw from Luke Shaw in their FA Cup encounter with Derby County on Thursday night.

The Red Devils breezed past The Rams with ease as the left-back opened the scoring and Odion Igahlo hit a brace.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will now travel to Premier League counterparts Norwich City and will battle it out for a place in the competition’s semi-finals (BBC).

Indeed, Shaw’s performance appeared to win him a number of plaudits from plenty of the Manchester United faithful as many could only leave superlatives regarding his display.

The 24-year-old may have been substituted in the 79th minute, but he had left a lasting mark on the game with his own individual showing.

Whilst he scored the opener, Shaw did also have three shots at goal, make one key pass, complete one dribble, whilst he had a solid defensive contribution as well (per WhoScored).

The former England international left-back made one interception, one clearance and blocked one shot (WhoScored).

Fans gushed over his performance on Twitter following the final result, with many going on to claim that he deserved to be named as the man of the match.

Some even went as far to call for the ‘agenda’ to be dropped against him from some supporters, as sections of the fanbase have been critical of him in the past (The Sun).
