Derby County play against Swansea City in a Championship encounter at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday.
This is a crucial game for Frank Lampard’s charges. They head into the game in sixth place on the standings with 70 points after 44 games and are above seventh place Middlesbrough on goal difference. A victory could see them secure a place in this seasons promotion playoffs depending upon how other results go.
Derby will likely have to make do without the services of defender Fikayo Tomori, according to a report published by the BBC.
The report added that Craig Bryson and Ashley Cole also remain out due to ankle and groin injuries respectively after having had to miss their sides victory against Bristol City on Saturday. Any King and Duane Holmes are however back in contention.
Lampard’s side can go into the game full of confidence. They enter this game on the back of a win and have also won their previous two League encounters played against the Swans. The last time that the sides met was in December with the Rams going on to win 2-1.
This will definitely be one of the most crucial games for Derby this season. A win would mean that it would be likely that they would progress to the promotion playoffs. Victory would also give Lampard’s side confidence ahead of the playoffs. A loss meanwhile could potentially put their promotion hopes in danger. The Rams will have to play all of their best players.
