Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson suggested on talkSPORT (9am, October 15, 2019) that he has advised nephew Joey Dawson not to join Arsenal.
According to The Sun, Arsenal are interested in signing Dawson from Scunthorpe United in the January transfer window.
It has been reported by the British tabloid that the Gunners are keen on securing the services of 16-year-old midfielder.
Michael Dawson was on the books of Tottenham from 2005 until 2014, and the 35-year-old Nottingham Forest central defender has given his take on the prospect of his nephew moving to Arsenal.
Michael Dawson said about Joey Dawson on talkSPORT (9am, October 15, 2019): “I saw that the other day and I said. ‘You’re signing for the wrong side here’!”
“He’s done great. He’s some size, he’s good on the ball. He has to keep his head down and keep working and you never know (whether he could sign for Arsenal).”
Big decision ahead
Dawson is only 16 years of age, and the midfielder can only get better in the coming years.
It is going to be a big decision from the teenager to make his next move, and he has to make sure that if he moves to Arsenal, he will be able to develop and grow at his own pace.
The teenager can be a star in the coming years, and the Gunners could be getting a very good player if they are able to sign him.
