With transfer deadline day coming up, Tottenham Hotspur look like they are still in the market for quality recruits and there is every chance that Mauricio Pochettino could land a new player to add to his squad before the window closes late on Wednesday.
Looking at the Spurs squad objectively, last season’s third-placed side look to have strength in depth across the park.
However, signing a new player to raise the collective standard or a superstar to immediately be added to the starting XI would be a real statement by the North London club.
In recent days, Tottenham have been linked with an audacious attempt to land Isco from Real Madrid in the media, in what would be a real coup for Pochettino’s men.

The Spain international is not guaranteed first-team football at the capital city side and has been consistently been touted with an exit from the La Liga club.
Exemplary on the ball, technically sublime and with creativity that would make him a real hit in the Premier League, signing a player of Isco’s quality could be the move to take Tottenham to the next level.
Sealing a deal would no doubt be difficult, both from a wages and transfer fee perspective, while Pochettino would need to convince the midfielder that Spurs were the club for him.

Isco will have plenty of other teams after him if he is available, but the chance to be the main man at Tottenham rather than just another star at Madrid could well be a real selling point.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is notoriously thrifty with transfer funds, but breaking the bank for Isco on deadline day would be a move that would send the White Hart Lane faithful into delirium.
