Celtic legend Sir Kenny Dalglish has suggested in The Sunday Post (print edition, Post Match supplement page 11, October 6, 2019) that Odsonne Edouard will not leave Celtic anytime soon.
The former Celtic and Liverpool forward is a big fan of Edouard, and although he expects the French striker to be of interest to big clubs, he does not envisage the youngster leaving the Hoops anytime soon.
Dalglish wrote in The Sunday Post (print edition, Post Match supplement page 11, October 6, 2019): “He has been scoring on a regular basis for Celtic in the past couple of seasons, and he is now also a major contributor for the France Under-21s. That kind of stuff brings him to the forefront, and he will be sought after.
“However, he appears to be a solid professional and not one to rock the boat. That’s why I expect him to be around all season as Celtic try to win nine-in-a-row.”
Important player for Celtic
Edouard has established himself as an important player for Celtic and is leading the line for Neil Lennon’s side at the moment.
The undisputed number one striker at the Glasgow giants, the former Paris Saint-Germain prospect scores goals regularly and also steps up in the big games, such as the Old Firm derbies against Rangers.
It is hard to see Celtic cash in on Edouard in the January transfer window, as they are unlikely to find a suitable replacement for the 21-year-old in the middle of the season even for a lot of money, but next summer the Hoops could be tempted to sell the striker if a big offer came in.
