Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has confirmed to BBC Sport that the London side will be without senior central defenders Scott Dann and Gary Cahill when they host Bournemouth in the Premier League on Tuesday night.
Dann was forced off against Burnley on Saturday due to what appeared to be an ankle injury while Cahill has a knee problem that kept him out of the Eagles’ win at Turf Moor.
Injuries to the Palace pair could mean a possible start for Mamadaou Sakho who came off the bench at the weekend for his first senior Palace appearance since September.
The Selhurst Park outfit are in 11th place, two points and one place above their visitors, following a 2-0 win at Burnley, which followed three straight losses to Liverpool, Chelsea and Leicester in a tough run of fixtures.
Key Palace forward Wilfried Zaha seems to have recovered his touch, scoring two goals in two games, having not netted in the first 12 Palace matches of the campaign.
Dann and Cahill join long-term absentee Joel Ward in the treatment room, leaving the Eagles a little short on personnel at the back heading into a busy festive period.
Palace will be looking to extend their streak of three unbeaten matches at home to the Cherries, with last season’s fixture ending in a 5-3 victory in favour of the hosts.
That scoreline may be hard to replicate with both sides looking short on goals this term.
