Crystal Palace are still interested in signing Loic Remy from Chelsea on a loan deal, despite being close to agreeing a club-record transfer of Christian Benteke from Liverpool, The Guardian report.
The Eagles have been short of tried-and-tested options to lead their line and Alan Pardew is keen to add competition for places in his squad, with Connor Wickham the only real option to lead the line currently.
Benteke has had a frustrating season on Merseyside since joining the Reds in a £32.5 million deal from Aston Villa and is expected to move to Selhurst Park in search of first-team football.
Despite the major transfer looking very likely to happen, Palace are still being touted with a loan approach for Remy.

Pardew knows the France international well from their mutual time together at Newcastle United.
Remy moved to Chelsea on the back of strong form for the Tyneside club but has found himself as a fringe figure at Stamford Bridge.
Given that Diego Costa looks set to stay with the Blues and Michy Batshuayi has been signed this summer, the French attacker could well be surplus to requirements for Antonio Conte and a temporary switch to Palace could well serve the interests of all parties.
