According to The Sun, Crystal Palace are interested in signing Carl Jenkinson from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Palace are looking for a new right-back following the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United earlier this summer for a transfer fee reported by The Sun to be worth £50m.
The Sun has claimed that the Eagles are looking at 27-year-old Jenkinson as a potential replacement.
The British tabloid has claimed that Arsenal are willing to sell the England international defender for £5 million.
Competition for Celtic
Palace’s reported interest in Jenkinson means that Celtic face a tough task in landing the right-back.
According to The Scottish Mail on Sunday (print edition, back page, June 16, 2019), Celtic want to sign the right-back on loan from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
With Palace reportedly giving him the chance to ply his trade in the Premier League, the defender may not be willing to make a switch to the Scottish Premiership, even though Celtic are one of the biggest and most historic clubs in the world.
