Over the last few years, Leeds have been fortunate to field some of the most prolific strikers in the Championship.
It poses the question; could one of them be about to make a sensational return to the club where he scored 58 goals?
His future at Aston Villa said to be in doubt, 31-year-old Ross McCormack may be looking for another club in the not too distant future, with suggestions that the West Midlands outfit might even release him from his contract.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side appear well-stocked up front, especially given Kemar Roofe’s rebirth, as on current form what could be a lethal number nine, who has kept star signing Patrick Bamford out of the starting XI for the club’s first two league victories.
Added to that the prodigious Tyler Roberts, who joined from West Bromwich Albion in January, McCormack might find himself fourth in the queue should any deal be in the offing at Elland Road.
Whether he could cut it under taskmaster Bielsa is another question, with high intensity pressing the number one characteristic of the way his team’s play.
No doubt his experience would certainly add an extra dimension and given his affinity with the fans, there is plenty of intrigue surrounding his future.
