Antonio Conte has already listed his transfer priorities for Chelsea this summer, with Moussa Dembele, Alvaro Morata and Virgil van Dijk all being lined up, according to The Mirror.
The Blues didn’t bring anyone into the club this winter, however owner Roman Abramovich is impressed by the job the Italian manager has done since his arrival and is said to be willing to back him with the finances needed to bring in players.
Conte is known to be a keen admirer of Dembele, who was the subject of interest during the January window, however the move didn’t materialise after Celtic allegedly quoted £40 million for the player.
The 20-year-old, who used to play for neighbours Fulham, has been scoring for fun in Scotland and looks destined for a return to England in the near future.
With the possibility of Diego Costa leaving the club during the summer after a £30m-a-year deal touted by a Chinese side turned the striker’s head, Conte has had to set his sights on the possibility of bringing in a recruit to replace him.
Morata is seen as an ideal replacement, should one be required. The 24-year-old Spain international is said to be open to a move, after being heavily linked with Chelsea last year, as he has doubts over his place in the Real Madrid team.
The last player that Conte has identified is in-demand Southampton centre-back Virgil van Dijk, who has been attracting the likes of Manchester City in recent times.
The Saints are beginning to brace themselves for the departure of their Dutch star, although he has just picked up an ankle injury that will see him sidelined for the next two-to-three months.
