Chelsea midfielder ace N’Golo Kante has given fans a boost by declaring he could finish his career with the London club, seemingly quashing rumours of a move to Real Madrid in the process.
The Blues star has been a huge feature since arriving from Leicester City in July 2016, leading the Stamford Bridge outfit to the Premier League title in his first campaign in the capital.
The 28-year-old is contracted to Chelsea until 2023, so if Frank Lampard is forced to cash in on one of his best assets, the club will at least earn a lot of cash in a transfer fee, although the France international seems adamant he is staying put for a long time to come.
Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Kante for a while, and after securing his former Blues teammate Eden Hazard in the summer, the natural next move would be to take the powerful midfielder, much to the concern of the fans of the London outfit.
They need not worry though if the Frenchman is to be believed, as he has confirmed his future very much lies with Chelsea for the years to come.
“Of course (I could finish my career at Chelsea), today I am with Chelsea until 2023,” he told Telefoot.
“So, in my head, I hope to continue to have great seasons with Chelsea until 2023.”
“Today at Chelsea, I have had three wonderful years winning titles. I think that it is a club that has helped me a lot and I hope that I will be able to win a lot more titles here.”
Kante returned from a month on the sidelines on Saturday, when Chelsea saw off London rivals Crystal Palace to move up to third in the Premier League, and with the midfielder back in action, fans will be hoping there is even more to come from him and the team.
