Chelsea are ready to intervene in Manchester United’s reported interest in Atletico Madrid and France attacker Antoine Griezmann, according to The Sun.
The Red Devils have made a splash in the transfer market this summer and the world-record capture of Paul Pogba showed that Jose Mourinho’s men are committed to fighting for major honours this season.
Reports in the press have indicated that United have already identified Griezmann as their number one target for next summer.

However, the latest speculation states that the Blues are also a major suitor of the former Real Sociedad star and will fight their domestic rivals for his signature in 2017.
Griezmann signed a new contract with the La Liga giants earlier this summer but has cast some doubt over his future at the Vicente Calderon by stating that he would consider leaving the Spanish capital if Diego Simeone stepped down as manager.
As such, a potential tug of war between two English football’s most affluent and prestigious clubs for the versatile forward’s signature could be building towards next summer.
