Chelsea have turned their attention to Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij and have offered €25 million (£21.3 million) for the Netherlands international according to Alfredo Pedula.
The Blues are in the market for a new centre-half but have yet to add a defensive option to Antonio Conte’s squad.

Talk in the press has linked the Stamford Bridge club to the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly and Alessio Romagnoli, but both Napoli and AC Milan are digging their heels in over selling their prized assets.
As such, the latest report suggests that Conte will instead make a move for De Vrij and are confident of snatching the no-nonsense enforcer away from Lazio.
The 24-year-old has impressed in the Italian capital since moving to Serie A from Feyenoord but also struggled with injuries at times.
De Vrij has been capped by Holland on 30 occasions since making his international debut back in 2012 and is an integral part of the Oranje’s rebuilding process.
Chelsea have started John Terry and Gary Cahill at the heart of their back line in the first two games of the season, with Kurt Zouma injured still.
However, Conte has been vocal in his desire to add another central defender before the transfer window closes on Wednesday.
