As Chelsea prepare to host Liverpool tonight in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge, a player that will most likely sit on the Blues bench would have been an ideal summer addition for the visitors.
Marcos Alonso joined the West London outfit on transfer deadline day and will offer Antonio Conte an addition option at left-back.

Although the Spanish defender will have to work hard to make it into the Chelsea side, he would waltz into their Premier League rivals’ starting XI.
Jurgen Klopp has resorted to playing James Milner at left-back this season after Alberto Moreno’s poor recent form and the England international has had to adjust to a new role at Anfield.
However, Premier League sides will look at Liverpool’s side this season and identify left-back as a potential weakness and area to exploit.

Just why the Reds didn’t sign a left-back remains to be seen, but Alonso would have been the ideal addition.
A forward-thinking full-back that is comfortable on the ball, most of the Kop would surely feel more confident in their side’s rearguard if Alonso was in the role rather than Moreno or Milner.
