Chelsea are ready to make a £20 million offer for Tottenham Hotspur left-back Ben Davies come January, according to The Sun.
The Blues are said to be in a position where they need to bolster the number of British players on their books to comply with Premier League regulations.
Left-back has been an area of concern for the West London side for some time, with Cesar Azpilicueta having to play out of position to fill the role over the last two seasons.

With Marcos Alonso’s arrival over the summer, Chelsea are seemingly set to revert to three at the back under Antonio Conte, with Davies potentially providing competition for the left wing-back role with the Spanish new boy.
Spurs have built a young progressive squad under Mauricio Pochettino and as such will be reluctant to sell the Wales international, especially to a Premier League rival.
However, Danny Rose is first-choice in the position at White Hart Lane, so £20 million for a back-up player could well tempt Tottenham to play ball.
