Premier League giants Chelsea and Liverpool are ready to go head-to-head for the signing of prodigious Porto midfielder Ruben Neves, according to The Mirror.
The 19-year-old playmaker has been a member of the Estadio do Dragao first team for a number of seasons and has even captained his side on occasion despite his young age.

Neves has been a regular feature for Portugal throughout age-grade levels and has a handful of senior caps to his name already also.
The report suggests that Antonio Conte’s men are the frontrunners to land the gifted midfielder and are willing to open the bidding for him with an offer in the region of £24 million.
However, Porto value Neves at the £35 million mark, while Liverpool are also keeping a close eye on proceedings and could be tempted into making a bid for the teenage starlet.
Should the Portugal international end up at Stamford Bridge it would surely be the end of Cesc Fabregas’ tenure in west London, with the Spaniard left out of the matchday squad for Saturday’s 3-0 win over Leicester City.
Liverpool meanwhile have played with a three-man central midfield this season and as such Neves’ addition would give Jurgen Klopp another impressive option in the heart of his team.
