Former Glasgow Rangers star Charlie Adam has said that it was “amazing to be able to take my kids back to where it all started” after appearing for Rangers legends during their game against Liverpool legends, as revealed on his official Instagram account.
The Liverpool legends went on to win the game 3-2 with Emile Heskey’s strike proving to be the winner. Current Rangers manager Steven Gerrard appeared for both sides during the friendly game.
Apart from Heskey, the other scorers for Liverpool were Luis Garcia and Patrick Berger, while Kris Boyd managed to find the back of the net for the Gers.
The game would have been enjoyable for Rangers fans as they got to witness some of the legends of the game in action.
The highlight though would have had to have been witnessing Gerrard in action for both teams.
Adam is one of only a few players who have played for both Liverpool and Rangers.
Meanwhile, there is renewed optimism that the Gers can finally win the Scottish Premiership title this season for the first time in nearly ten years.
They moved atop the League standings after Celtic fell to a shock 2-0 defeat against Livingston two weeks ago.
Rangers thrashed Hamilton 5-0 in their last game and they will be hoping to maintain their good form when they take on Hearts next weekend.
Can the Gers finally re-establish themselves as Kings of Scottish football?
Time will tell but if they do it, there is no doubt that Gerrard could go on to become a legend at the club.
