Scottish champions Celtic could secure top spot in their Europa League group when they entertain Rennes at Celtic Park on Thursday night, and they will have two men back for the clash, according to their Twitter feed.
The Bhoys currently sit on top of the Group E table, a point ahead of Cluj, who they travel to face in the final match in this round of the secondary European competition next month.
Whatever happens against the Ligue 1 outfit, Celtic know they will be competing in the tournament in 2020 having already secured their qualification for the knockout stages, but they have their eyes set on winning their section and making their draw a little easier.
The Bhoys can do that with a win over Rennes, and Lazio beating Cluj, but whatever happens in the other match, the Glasgow giants will be in control of their own destiny if they can see off the French club.
To help Celtic in their quest, they will be able to call upon two returning players in the form of Greg Taylor and Mikey Johnston, both of whom could be involved against the Ligue 1 side, giving the Scottish champions some added depth to their squad as they enter a hectic period of matches.
Neil Lennon will be without one player when he names his 18 to take on Rennes however, as he has confirmed that winger Jonny Hayes is not going to be fit to take any part in the contest, the Bhoys have plenty of cover in his position though.
Celtic have never won a European group with more than 10pts before, so they could be on the verge of creating another piece of history, in a run in which they have shattered records everywhere they have looked over the last couple of campaigns.
