Celtic will look to make it into their first final of the season on Sunday afternoon, when they take on fellow Scottish Premiership outfit Hearts in the semi-final of the Betfred Cup at Murrayfield.
The Bhoys are 90 minutes from the trophy match at Hampden Park, but in order to make it there they must defeat a side who have already beaten them in the league this term.
Hearts actually sit at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, which highlights the size of the task ahead of Celtic on Sunday afternoon, but the Glasgow giants are no strangers to competing in big semi-finals, and will be expected to power their way through to the final.
If they are to take their place in the big showdown at Hampden they will have to get there without a host of huge players who are missing.
Brendan Rodgers goes into the match without some of his stars for the last four clash. Scott Brown and Leigh Griffiths missed the Europa League clash in Germany on Thursday evening and miss out here, while Dedryck Boyata is absent due to his suspension.
The Celtic boss was hoping to have Jozo Simunovic and Christian Gamboa back for the contest but they are both rated as doubtful, as is Australia international Tom Rogic, although he could feature at some point.
Rodgers gave full details of who is in with a chance of playing and who is definitely out when he addressed the media ahead of the match.
“The likes of Jozo Simunovic and Christian Gamboa will go for a scan today,” BBC Sport quote him as saying.
“The players who were out before the game are probably still struggling.
“We’ll have a look at Tom Rogic to see where Tom is at. It’s just about how he reacts to what his issue was with his knee, but hopefully he has a big chance of playing.”
Victory in the match will see Celtic continue to turn around what was an indifferent beginning to the campaign, and get them back in another domestic final as well as keep them on track for another treble.
