According to The Scottish Sun, Neil Lennon’s Celtic have joined Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers, Newcastle United and Southampton in the race for Jarrad Branthwaite.
The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 67, December 1, 2019), Rangers, Newcastle and Southampton are interested in signing Carlisle United central defender Branthwaite.
The report has claimed that while both the Gers and the Magpies have been tracking the 17-year-old, it is Southampton who are leading the race.
According to a new report in The Scottish Sun, Celtic have now joined the race for the highly talented defender.
The report has claimed that the Hoops are tracking the youngster, who is rated at £1 million.
It has also been claimed that Celtic’s director of football, Nick Hammond, made a personal visit to see the defender play last month.
Both Celtic and Rangers are challenging for the Scottish Premiership title this season, and Branthwaite could enhance their chances of winning it.
