Glasgow Celtic are thought to be keeping tabs on Milad Mohammadi, according to a report by Football Insider.
The media outlet are claiming that Brendan Rodgers remains keen on the Iran international and could look to eye a possible January deal for the defender.
The Hoops were allegedly keen on the player in the summer after he impressed with his performances for his country in the World Cup, but a move never materialised.
However, it appears that the Scottish Premiership champions could be about to revisit the situation as his contract at Akhmat Grozny is set to expire in the summer.
It is understood that the Russian side could look to cash in on the 25-year-old in the winter transfer window rather than risk losing him on on a free transfer in the summer.
Rodgers is keen to add to his defence at Celtic Park in January with his backline having looked thin and also shaky at times.
Kieran Tierney and Emilio Izaguirre are his current options at left-back at the moment, however, Mohammadi’s possible arrival would certainly bring competition to the spot at Parkhead.
However, it appears that Celtic are not the only side to have taken an interest in the Iranian.
Premier League outfit Watford and Istanbul giants Fenerbahce are also thought to be keen on the defender and could both look to make offers in January as well.
