Glasgow Celtic are set to pip bitter city rivals Glasgow Rangers to the signature of Hibernian midfielder John McGinn, according to the odds with Bet Victor.

The bookmakers have the Hoops as favourites to secure the 22-year-old from their former manager Neil Lennon with a price of 2/1, whereas the Gers are slightly further out at 5/1.

The Light Blues are then followed by fellow Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen, who are at 8/1, and outsiders Derby County, Newcastle United, Heart of Midlothian, Norwich City, Aston Villa and Brighton and Hove Albion who are all priced at 12/1.

The Scotland international has played a key role in the Edinburgh side’s successful promotion campaign this year, netting five goals as well as providing ten assists.

However, a number of fine performances for the Scottish Championship winners has created home-town interest for the Glasgow-born McGinn.

Triple-chasing Celtic already have an established midfield at the Parkhead Stadium, but with 31-year-old Scott Brown possibly coming towards the back-end of his career, Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers may be keen to add more youth into the first-team squad alongside Stuart Armstrong and Callum McGregor.

On the other side of Scotland’s second city, Gers boss Pedro Caixinha will have to embark on recruiting several midfielders this summer, with Jon Toral and Emerson Hyndman both returning to their parent club’s following the conclusion of the season.

Both clubs look set to battle over the youngster, however the pulling power of a so-far successful unbeaten season as well as the prospect of Champions League football will surely place the Hoops in the driving seat.

  1. Is this website affiliated with HITC? Because the guys that write this utter garbage must have gone to the same school of shit journalism.

Rogers may be keen to add more youth into the first-team squad alongside journeymen Stuart Armstrong and Callum McGregor.

This is Armstrong’s second club, he’s 25 years old. Callum McGregor is 23 and has been at Celtic all his footballing career, barring a stint on loan at Notts County.

Do you just make this shit up as you go along? Sure seems like.

I must add this website to the blocked list on my Newsnow Celtic feed.
