Glasgow Celtic suffered their first domestic defeat of the 2018-19 season on Saturday, with the Scottish champions going down 1-0 to Hearts at Tynecastle.

Kyle Lafferty’s sublime strike decided the tie in the hosts’ favour, with pressure mounting on the Hoops ahead of their next game.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers rotated his starting XI for the game against Hearts as the Parkhead outfit are travelling to Greece in midweek to face AEK Athens in their Champions League qualifier second leg.

As such a number of fringe players were introduced at Tynecastle, but it is fair to say that none of the those covered themselves in glory.

One of the Celtic men coming into the team was Jonny Hayes, who has been criticised on Twitter by the Bhoys fans after the defeat.

The Irish winger has recovered from a broken leg and will have been glad of the opportunity to get game-time under his belt, but the former Aberdeen man struggled to make an impression against Hearts.

The Celtic fans have taken to Twitter after the game, with Hayes being slammed for a poor performance.
