Glasgow Celtic ran out 3-2 winners against Glasgow Rangers in the Old Firm derby at Ibrox Stadium on Sunday and fans were delighted with the performance of one of their players who were not expected to have started the game on social media.

Brendan Rodgers’ side made the gap between them and the Gers nine points at the top of the Scottish Premiership, with an extra game to play over their rivals.

The Bhoys continued their winning streak when playing at Ibrox, having made it four successive times to have beaten their Glasgow arch-nemesis.

The Hoops had found themselves behind inside the first few minutes of the match when Josh Windass broke free and drilled the ball into the top corner.

The Celtic Park outfit got back into the match almost immediately with a fine goal from Tom Rogic, who sent the ball curling around Wes Foderingham.

The Bhoys then went behind again when Daniel Candeias rifled a shot past Scott Bain, however, Moussa Dembele squared the tie-up just before the half-time whistle.

Celtic could have been in trouble when they saw Jozo Simunovic sent off for a straight red card after he appeared to elbow Alfredo Morelos, but the decision did not seem to faze Rodgers’ men.

Odsonne Edouard was brought on to freshen the visitors attack and he only needed three minutes to make an impact, scoring what would turn out to be the winner.

Fans were delighted with the way their team performed and naturally were delighted with the win against the Old Firm rivals, although it was the display by Bain that pleased them most.

Supporters took to Twitter to state that the goalkeeper had made an impressive debut for the Bhoys and were looking forward to many more to come.
